Algarve to Morocco 4x4 Tour
Day 1 - Albufeira - Larache.
Your adventure begins in the early hours of the morning where you
will bord your vehicle and set out to catch the boat at the port of
Tarifa, Spain. From there you will go to the the Continente of Africa
and make your way down to your hotel in Larache on the Moroccan coast.
Day
2 - Larache - Marrakech.
From larache you will go directly to Marrakech passing by the capital
Rabat and through Casablanca. The evening in Marrakech can be spent
visiting the 'Souk' (market) where you will find everything from snake
charmers, live music, bargins, strange foods etc.
Day
3 - Marrakech - Zagora.
Leaving your hotel in central Marrakech the journey heads further
south to Zagora through the Atlas mountains - up to 3000m high.
Venturing off the main road you will be brought through ancient villages,
many oasis, mountain roads, and will see sights that were used in
many films such as Indiana Jones. Arrival at your hotel in Zagora
where the road ends and the Sahara begins.
Day
4 - Zagora - Merzouga
Following the changing desert tracks, through baron landscapes
of rocks, mountains, sand and dust, spotted here and there by camels,
goats, people and houses of tea and rooms, you will arrive upon the
golden sand dunes of Merzuga where you stay in a beautiful Auberge
that over-looks these impressive dunes.
Day
5 - Merzouga
Passing time visiting the dunes by camel or relaxing by the pool,
you can put your feet up and relax.
This location will be a memorable one, with a banquet
of food and drink, music with a traditioal folk groups, dancing and
general merryment.
Day
6 - Merzouga - Fes
Leaving the Sahara behind, you will make your way through the Atlas
mountains again to Fes, passing through the towns Erfoud, Errachidia
and Rich. At your hotel in Fes you can adventure into the largest
'souk' (market) in Morocco which was once an important trading point
for all of Africa and Euroope.
Day
7 - Fes - Chefchaouen
This day will be your last day to shop and tour but it could
not be done in a more charming and magnificently beautiful town as
Chefchaouen. Surrounded by tall mountains, tiny streets painted
in blue, sell original fabrics and accessories that cannot be found
anywhere else. The perfect town to spent your last night in Morocco.
Day
8 - Chefchaouen - Albufeira
With a head full of captivating memories, you will make
your way back to Tanger, across to Tarifa by boat and on to Albufeira.
